  • Flippen Elementary School Second Grade Science Day

    On January 24, 2012, Terrie Myers, North Georgia Mountains YSTC Regional Coordinator along with teachers at Flippen Elementary School in Henry County facilitated a Second Grade Science Day. The exhibits included: Butter Matters ( changing heavy cream to butter, liquid to solid), Humpty Dumpty Together Again (parts to whole), Scrumptious Fungus ( fungi, fungal foods presented for students to taste), Squiggle Estimation (estimation). One hundred twenty students were rotated between the four activities and had a blast!

  • Ford Family Science Nights

    On February 2, 2012, Ford sponsored a Family Science Night at Lithia Springs Elementary School in Douglas County. Over 100 parents and nearly 150 students were greeted by West GYSTC Regional Coordinator Steve Rich and teachers and administrators of the school for an evening of fun hands-on science. The families experience how much fun science is with more than a dozen hands-on exhibits.
